Many paths converged to bring me to the field of psychotherapy including time spent volunteering outdoors with children, countless hours spent volunteering in hospice care, my own journey as a client in therapy, and my decades of studying all things esoteric and mystical. The esoteric studies led me to read Carl Jung. From him I learned all the mysteries I saw “out there” were contained in human experience and in the psyche, very much “in here.”
I completed my Bachelor of Arts and Counseling Psychology Master’s degrees at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). Both programs placed an emphasis on cultural humility, holistic healing and the responsibility we have to each other as citizens of this globe. I served as a Writing Fellow and Senior Writing Fellow at CIIS’ Center for Writing and Scholarship and thrived in CIIS’ learning communities. As a Writing Fellow enrolled in a Psychology program, I often found myself researching the links between procrastination, writing blocks and other seemingly academic issues and the psychological suffering these blocks seemed so tied to. I still enjoy working with clients on their creative blocks as a therapist.
My training as a psychotherapist began at The Integral Counseling Center in San Francisco, a low fee clinic where I served individuals, couples and families across a variety of issues and social identities. I also worked in San Rafael with LGBTQ+ teens in high school wellness centers. I learned there how much I love supporting teens in their process of exploring gender. From May 2018 to June 2020 I worked under the mentorship and supervision of Michael Korson, LMFT learning the nuances and art of working relationally in depth and long-term psychotherapy.
